William Blair of Penn State--Walter L. and Helen P. Ferree Professor of Middle American History, Director of the Richards Civil War Era Center, and founding editor of The Journal of the Civil War Era—will visit UVA in early March for two events.
On Thursday March 3 at 4:00 he will give a public lecture titled, "Punishing the Rebels: A New Look at the 14th Amendment," on his acclaimed recent book, With Malice Toward Some: Treason and Loyalty in the Civil War Era, in the Byrd/Morris room on the 3rd floor of the Harrison Institute/Small Special Collections Building.
On Friday March 4 at noon, again in the Byrd/Morris room, he will give a professional development workshop for graduate students, on publishing articles in journals.
