Welcoming Brian Neumann as our New Managing Director

The Nau Center is thrilled to welcome Brian C. Neumann (UVA PhD 2020) as our new Managing Director and Digital Historian! 

Neumann has worked at the Nau Center since early 2017, first as a graduate research assistant and then as an editorial assistant. He played a leading role in the “UVA Unionists” digital project, which launched earlier this year. His work has appeared in The South Carolina Historical Magazine, Southern Studies, and Protest in the Long Eighteenth Century. His first book, Bloody Flag of Anarchy: Unionism in South Carolina during the Nullification Crisis, will be published by LSU Press in 2022.
