The Nau Center is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring a panel titled "The Civil War, Experienced" at the 2016 Virginia Festival of the Book on March 17, 2016. The panel discussion will take place in the Harrison Institute/Small Special Collections Library at 2 PM.

Moderated by affiliated faculty member, Dr. George Gilliam, the panel will feature three historians discussing recent publications released last year. The three speakers and their books are:

Dr. Brent Tarter, Library of Virginia, Daydreams & Nightmares: A Virginia Family Faces Secession and War (University of Virginia Press, 2015).

Dr. William Kurtz, Nau Center, Excommunicated from the Union: How the Civil War Created a Separate Catholic America (Fordham University Press, December 1, 2015).

Attendance is open to the public. Come join us to hear each author speak briefly about their work. There will be a Q&A session at the end of the panel. After the panel has concluded, books will be available for purchase and the authors will be available to sign copies and talk with attendees.
