Welcoming Our New Advisory Board Members

The Nau Civil War Center is excited to welcome four new members to our Advisory Board: Andrew F. Lang, Beth Parnicza, Kevin M. Levin, and Justene Hill Edwards. 

  • Andrew F. Lang is an associate professor at Mississippi State University and the author of A Contest of Civilizations: Exposing the Crisis of American Exceptionalism in the Civil War Era

  • Beth Parnicza serves as the Chief of Education and Visitor Services at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park and has spent 12 years as a public historian of the Civil War Era.

  • Kevin M. Levin is an educator and historian based in Boston and is the author of Searching for Black Confederates: The Civil War’s Most Persistent Myth.

  • Justene Hill Edwards is an assistant professor at the University of Virginia and an affiliated faculty member with the Nau Center. She is the author of Unfree Markets: The Slaves' Economy and the Rise of Capitalism in South Carolina.
