Stephanie Lawton Receives Mount Vernon Fellowship

University of Virginia doctoral candidate Stephanie Lawton has recently received a fellowship from the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington at Mount Vernon. During her six-month fellowship, Lawton will conduct research for her dissertation titled, “In Memory of the Best: The Classical Commemoration of American Presidents in the Nineteenth Century.” Lawton received her BA from the University of California in Los Angeles and has experience working in public and digital history.
