Oxford University Press just released a new book compiling many of the submissions to the New York Times's wonderful "Disunion" blog. "Disunion," which was published from 2011 to 2015 during the Civil War sesquicentennial, included blog entries on a variety of topics such as emancipation, military strategy, civilian life, race, and slavery. A broad range of authors, both scholars and amateurs, contributed to the blog throughout its five-year run.

The new book is titled, The New York Times Disunion: A History of the Civil War. The Nau Center and the University of Virginia are well represented in this new volume, with contributions from directors Gary W. Gallagher and Elizabeth Varon as well as former UVA graduate student Jonathan Grinspan. Please see the book's official webpage by Oxford University Press for more details.
