Gary Liz Dan Award
Tuesday, December 5, 2017

On Friday, December 1, Daniel W. Crofts came to Charlottesville to receive officially the 2017 Bobbie and John Nau Book Prize in American Civil War Era History for his book Lincoln and the Politics of Slavery: The Other Thirteenth Amendment and the Struggle to Save the Union (University of North Carolina Press, 2016).

Crofts also very generously shared a work in progress with our graduate students and staff at a workshop luncheon the same day.

In addition to congratulating Professor Crofts, the Nau Center would also like to remind authors with Civil War books published in 2017 to submit them for our 2018 book prize. Application details can be found at the link below.
