Lauren Haumesser Wins Zora Neale Hurston Award

Lauren Haumesser has won the 2018 Women, Gender & Sexuality Zora Neale Hurston Graduate Essay Contest for her paper “‘Domestic Institutions’: Gendered Language and the Debates over Territorial Slavery.”

Her award will be announced at this year’s WGS Diploma Ceremony on May 19, at 12:30PM in the Newcomb Theater.  She will receive a $150 monetary prize and official news will be posted on the Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality’s website.

Lauren will also receive her PhD from the Corcoran Department of History during commencement weekend. Congratulations Dr. Haumesser!
