Additional Honors for "The Calculus of Violence"

The Calculus of Violence: How Americans Fought the Civil War (Harvard University Press, 2018) by Dr. Aaron Sheehan-Dean (UVA PhD 2003) was recently awarded two honors in addition to receiving the 2018 Jefferson Davis Award from the American Civil War Museum.

Sheehan-Dean's book has also won the "Army Historical Foundation Distinguished Writing Award" (website) and the inaugural "Tonous and Warda Johns Family Book Award, Pacific Coast Branch, American Historical Association" (website). Both prizes will be awarded at events later this year.
